Choose a transfer call method when performing blind or attended transfers.
The latest iOS release discusses call transfer to phonebook contacts. We also take a look at what’s going on behind the scenes to make call transfer even more convenient. Read on to learn more.
Transfer Calls to your Phonebook Contacts
The call transfer will expose a list of contacts for the user to select when performing blind/attended transfer.
Users will choose their transfer method of choice and be presented with the phonebook contacts. They can search and select the contact to finalize the transfer. Users will currently not be able to access the BLFs screen when performing transfer. But we are working on this and more.
What’s Coming
We’re currently working on a new, more convenient way of transferring calls. When tapping on transfer, you’ll be presented with 5 actionable buttons on the top. Each button will show different results:
- Keypad: The user can dial a number and then select whether they want to make a blind or attended transfer.
- Team: The user will be presented with a list of team extensions. Find the extension and tap on the blind and attended transfer buttons next to the extension to perform the action.
- BLF: The user will be presented with a list of BLFs. This has the same behaviour as Team extensions but with some added functionality such as transferring to custom speed dials.
- Contacts: The user will be presented with a list of phonebook numbers. Find the contact and tap transfer method next to it to perform the action.
- Recents: A list of your call history is presented in this list. This is very useful if you want to transfer the call to a number that is not in your phonebook contacts.
Edit Before Call
Edit before call is a functionality that allows you to make amends to a number in your Recents list before calling it. We have decided to move this functionality into the Menu button.
Click on the Menu button, and then click on the pencil icon next to the number. This will expose a dialog for further changes before performing the call. If you tap on the recent item it will perform the call without edits.
