Hot off the heels of the Android 15 release, 3CX Android App was compatible and fully optimised within days. This allowed us to leverage its improved audio focus capabilities and update our internal libraries. With better stability, crashes have been reduced and app performance improved – all at no extra cost. Continuing this success in 2025, and building upon the success of our recent BETA, today’s Android Final release includes BLF (Busy Lamp Field) Support and Queue Login and Status Control. Read on to learn more.
Key Features of BLF Support
BLF support now includes real-time status visibility so you can instantly see colleagues’ statuses be they available, on a call, away or busy. You can also perform new calls, blind or attended transfers and park/unpark calls using BLF advanced call handling. Or if you need to take over your colleague’s calls – and you’re on V20 Update 5 – you can use Call Pickup.
To get BLF in the android app, go to the team filter to access BLFs by tapping on the Team button in your navigation bar. Once there, switch the filter to ‘BLF’ from the top right corner. If you’re already using BLF in the Web Client, it’s automatically enabled in the Android app. If not, you can set it up by logging into your Web Client. Tap on the 3 horizontal dots in the navigation bar. Click on ‘Settings’, and then click on ‘BLF’. Finally, proceed to set your own BLF types: Line, BLF, speed dial, custom speed dial, shared parking, change status for presence, and queue login/logout.
Queue Login and Status Control
Take control of your queue settings even while on a call with some great new features. Pause additional incoming calls – from queues or extensions – to focus on your current conversation by changing your queue status during calls. Update your status without needing to leave the call screen to simplify workflows.
Monitoring & Reporting Connection Quality
The Android client lets you monitor any call quality issues using the Call Monitoring Tool. In record time you’ll be able to diagnose and solve problems as they arise. All you need to do is open the hamburger menu, tap on ‘Monitor Connection Quality’ and then select the period you’d like to monitor. Go to your Call history records once the call has ended to see the report generated. If you’re looking for a more extensive report login to your Web Client. Go to ‘Calls’ in the navigation bar and then click on the ‘Show call quality report’ button next to your call.
Google Integration
Now available with V20 Update 5, Google Workspace integration allows for synchronization of personal contacts. To enable this feature, go to your Contacts tab and switch to the Google filter.
Edit Before Calls
Users have the option – before making a call – to edit an external number from the recents menu. All you need to do is go to the Recents tab and either tap on the item – or tap on the menu button – and select ‘Edit before call’. The number gets copied over to the Keypad for further editing ahead of the call itself.
Telecom API Re-enabled for Pixel Devices Running Android 15
A recent update to Android 15 has promised to fix the audio and Bluetooth issues we’d experienced with Telecom API on Google Pixel devices following the release of Android 14.
When updating to this Final build, Telecom API will be automatically enabled on Pixel devices. Upgrade your Android to the latest OS version and give us your feedback.
