Take control of calls with BLF support and new queue management features.
The latest 3CX Android Beta introduces BLF (Busy Lamp Field) Support and Queue Login and Status Control, giving users greater control over calls and workflows. Building on the success of the previous release with Android 15 compatibility. Read on for more.
BLF Support
Stay connected and informed with BLF support in the Android app. Key features include:
- Real-time status visibility: Instantly see colleagues’ statuses—available, on a call, away, or busy
- Advanced call handling: Perform new calls, blind or attended transfers, and park/unpark calls using BLF
- Call Pickup: Take over your colleague’s calls when needed (available with V20 Update 5)
How to Access BLF in the Android App:
BLFs can be accessed from the team filter by tapping on the Team button in your navigation bar and by switching the filter to ‘BLF’ from the top right corner.
If BLF is already being used in the Web Client, it’s automatically enabled in the Android app. If not, follow these simple steps to set it up:
- Login to your Web Client
- Tap on the 3 horizontal dots in the navigation bar
- Click on ‘Settings’, and then click on ‘BLF’
- Set your own BLF types: Line, BLF, speed dial, custom speed dial, shared parking, change status for presence, and queue login/logout
Monitor Connection Quality
The Android client enables you to monitor call quality issues with the Call Monitoring Tool to diagnose and solve problems in record time.
Simply open the hamburger menu, tap on ‘Monitor Connection Quality’ and select the period of monitoring. Once the call has ended, a report is generated in your Call history records.
A more extensive report can be found in the Web Client. Login to your Web Client and go to ‘Calls’ in the navigation bar. Click on the ‘Show call quality report’ button next to your call.
Edit Before Call
From the recents tab, a user now has the ability to edit a mobile number before making a call, allowing the user to make calls at a better rate by calling the number via a particular trunk. The user simply needs to go to the Recents tab, and either tap on the item, or tap on the menu button and select ‘Edit before call’. This number is copied over to the Keypad but not immediately called for further editing.
Telecom API Re-enabled for Pixel Devices Running Android 15
When Android 14 was released, we found a few audio and bluetooth related issues with Telecom API on Google Pixel devices. After reporting these issues directly to Google, we decided to disable it until the matter was cleared.
A recent update to Android 15 promised to fix these audio and Bluetooth issues. Therefore, when updating to this Beta build, Telecom API will be automatically enabled on Pixel devices. Please make sure to upgrade your Android to the latest OS version and give us your feedback.
Queue Login and Status Control
Take control of your queue settings even while on a call. With this feature, you can:
- Change Your Queue Status During Calls: Pause additional incoming calls from queues or extensions to focus on your current conversation
- Simplify Workflows: Update your status without needing to leave the call screen
Google Integration
This latest update integrates Google Workspace and allows for synchronization of your personal contacts. Simply head over to your Contacts tab and switch to the Google filter. This feature is available with V20 Update 5 only.
