Building upon the success of the beta release from 14th November, the final version of the 3CX Windows Softphone is now available and packed with powerful new features. This update enhances call management, contact integration, and queue handling—giving you greater control and flexibility in your daily communications.

Designed to streamline your workflow, these tools ensure you can manage calls and contacts efficiently, whether you’re in the office or working remotely. Keep reading to find out what’s new.

New Features for Call and Contact Management

Integrate your contacts seamlessly with M365, CRM, personal, and company directories:

  • Flexible Contact Creation: Add new contacts directly from the dialer while on a call. The form automatically fills in the caller’s number for quick entry.
  • Categorize Contacts: Save them as Personal, Company, CRM, or M365 contacts, depending on your setup and permissions.

Copy Number from Clipboard

You can easily dial any number displayed on your website, CRM or custom application directly into your 3CX softphone, without having to manually copy and paste or retype the number.

Here’s how it works:

  • Highlight the number: Select the number you want to dial in any application.
  • Press your designated hotkey sequence: This will instantly transfer the highlighted number to your 3CX softphone.

Important Note: When choosing your hotkey combination, make sure it doesn’t conflict with any existing hotkeys in Windows or the active application to avoid unintended actions.

CRM Contact Links

For users with CRM integration, accessing contact information has never been faster:

  • Automatic Links: Enable “Open Contact URL” to automatically display the caller’s CRM profile in your browser after answering a call.

Advanced Call Management from the Teams Tab

Users with appropriate permissions can now manage team calls directly from the Team page:

  • Call Controls: Right-click on team members’ extensions to access tools such as
    • Barge In
    • Listen
    • Whisper
    • Transfer
    • Park
    • Record
    • Monitor
    • Drop the Call
  • See Current Calls: The Teams page also shows the extension or number your team members are speaking with, allowing receptionists or supervisors to make faster decisions.

Abandoned Call Tracking Made Simple

Missed queue calls are now easier to track and manage directly from the Recents tab:

  • Abandoned Call Filter: Find missed calls quickly with a dedicated filter.
  • Status Syncing: Mark calls as “Not Dealt,” “Dealing,” or “Dealt With,” and sync statuses across Web Client extensions.
  • Quick Actions: Right-click abandoned calls, to call back, add to contacts, or chat with the caller.

Temporary Status Settings and Custom Call Forwarding

Easily manage your availability with scheduled status changes and forwarding rules:

  • Set Status Temporarily: Choose a new status and set a duration to automatically revert back after a set time.
  • Custom Call Forwarding: Configure rules for how calls are handled based on your status, with separate options for internal and external calls.
